Default Crinkle finish paint reviver?

I've cleaned the front panel on the Eddystone and will be cleaning the case tomorrow. It's not going to be a concourse restoration, as the paint isn't too bad and I want it to retain an element of patina, but it does look a bit “dry/matt”.

Have I read somewhere that baby oil revives the gloss finish, or is there something more suitable, maybe a wax or linseed oil finish?

I use Armor All, the stuff intended for use on car dashboards, plastic wheel arch trims etc.

If it can be used without getting where it shouldn't, have you tried dishwashing detergent and water, possibly in a strong solution so that is quite viscous? It will take careful sponging to rinse but will remove quite a bit of ingrained dirt. Gentle brushing with a medium bristle brush will help. Check that the paint is not softened during the process.

Johnsons Baby Oil does work very well , as I know from experience.

Ive given it a scrub with a bit of detergent. Its now clean. I’d forgotten about my “go to” cleaner/polish. Was given a tin when we had the granite worktops done, and it works superbly for radios and the like. Ive ordered a tin.
