Default Roberts RT22 - stiff tuning

Having just done one of these sets and having to replace the broken tuning cord into the bargain, I noticed that the tuning drive worked fine when the chassis was out of the cabinet, but upon reassembly ,the tuning was stiff and prone to slippage. Upon inspection, following several removal and oiling operations, I noticed that the tuning wheel that drives the variable capacitor was jamming up against a section of beading that acts as a stiffener for the cabinet. It is almost as if these cabinets shrink slightly with age. The original assembler had filed away most of this beading, rendering it almost superfluous. A judicious removal with a coarse file corrected this fault.
Look out for this one, it had me going for hours!
