That's a shame.

Though I must admit, Hammond - http://www.hammondmfg.com/scpg.htm - has a much better range [available via Digi-Key and Mouser].

As we all know well, nobody makes anything at home these days (chuckle).

I was never any good at panel-beating. Or woodworking.

My approach has always been ~Find out the things you're no good at, and get someone else to do these things for you~.

Went along to the Maplin in Rugby the other day. No metal boxes though I have found the range of components in Maplin is getting very poor now. The variety of enclosures is now very limited to a few small plastic boxes. Luckily there are other sources of enclosures and components such as Ebay.

eBay is fine, but the postage costs are spiraling out of control. I wanted some boxes to mount emergency lighting control gear in. I found them on eBay for £6. The problem was that the postage was £14 each and the seller would not combine.

I will get some 18 gauge galv steel sheet and make my own for around £8 for four.

Daniel.

Re my earlier reference to the sixties use of kitchen equipment as a chassis in PW [post 3*] I went into a pound shop in Bexhill the next day only to find Loaf. Baking and Roasting trays that actually looked quite smart and seviceable for the price.
