Default Trio 9R-59DS frequency counter

Hi, I wondered if anyone had fitted a frequency counter to their trio of late and could perhaps point me in the right direction on how to go about it?

Get one of the frequency counters on ebay from china and hook it up to the VFO but put the IF offset into it.
that should work.
