Well, I've a sturdy little grappling hook on its way here, and I'll see what happens when I fling it, perhaps as soon as tomorrow afternoon. May take a few attempts, as from what will be my throwing position I'll barely, if at all, be able to see any of the items I'm trying to catch: but, hey, what could possibly go wrong Details of whatever admits of retrieval will follow.

Time I brought this up to date: the grappling hook worked a treat, and the whole assembly, less the mains toroid which I think must already have been disconnected from everything else, was easily retrieved once I'd scrambled into position. The control panel is in rather better shape than it looks, and might not be far from pristine once cleaned up, but with the screen printing having proved itself so durable I rather expect every surviving example of the unit has a perfectly good panel already. Still, the slider knobs may come in for something, likewise the pushbuttons though they're not of a type familiar to me from anything else - smaller diameter than those used on many a Roberts portable, and with fluted sides.

Well, here they are - is it just the two amplifier modules that may be of use?

I've repaired stuff in worse condition than that!

Well done for the rescue!

I've got that exact same model, not in use at the moment and up in the loft. Those amplifiers are actually very good performers. I seem to think it dates from around 1977, but could be out by a year or three!
