Television set Identity
Hi, Spotted on "Heartbeat" this morning I think it's either a Bush or a Sobell/GEC however I'm sure that someone in the forum can positively identify the model for me.
Thanks in advance Andrew |

Re: Television set Identity
I think it's a Philips 19TG 152 series. John.

Re: Television set Identity
Definitely Philips or one of other the brand names used by the company.
Cossor, Peto-Scott or Stella. DFWB |

Re: Television set Identity
I remember many a time stripping down the system switch for cleaning in that chassis.

Re: Television set Identity
Hi, thanks for the responses so far, looking at what appears to be the system switch buttons I'm now confident that the set is a Philips as already mentioned as one of my childhood friends parents had a similar set.

Re: Television set Identity
I had several elderly customers that never managed to operate the system switch. It took a great deal of pressure to operate the switch ending with a loud bonk but unfortunately by the time they had fiddled with the tuner and over come the stiffness of the standards switch the programme was over and the struggle started again to get it back to 405!
Fortunately the style 70 used much softer Bowden cables but it took a few years before a solenoid was introduced in the 210 series. The Philips UHF tuner [ fitted with the plastic back and copper screen] when fitted with decent valves almost reached the performance of the transistor unit. As Lawrence recalls, the system switch needed a good clean but was reliable once you managed to actually use it! LOPTs were very reliable unlike the later 70 and 210 series. Regards John. |

Re: Television set Identity
I think it is a Philips 19TG155A. Philips dealer information sheet scans attached (which use the shortened model number 9155).
