Default Dynatron S210 turntable

Hi all,
I have acquired a dynatron music centre that includes a S210 turntable. I can't find any information on it, and as the cartridge is missing, I am looking for the correct one. Any help would be gratefully received.

What is your Dynatron's model number? It may start with "SRX". That may help us to ID the turntable.

Or post some pictures. It could be that the original turntable has been swapped for something else.

Googling gets me to this picture of a Dynatron-style cabinet loaded with Japanese-looking gear from c. 1980: https://www.picclickimg.com/gpkAAOSw...ifi-S-210.webp

Yes, that photo is correct. It states on the back " hi-tech " series. Sr3370 on the back of the tape player, made in Japan for Dynatron. The turntable has an "ADC" headshell, which I am waiting on a new stylus. Photos enclosed.

Yes, that's the photo of one similar to mine. The label in the back states it is the " hi-tech series. The turntable has an "ADC," headshell that I have ordered a stylus for, along with a new belt. The internals in the cassette player have " made in Japan" stamped on them. The turntable also has electronic speed control, which is nice. Photos enclosed.

Good, solid, respectable Japanese hifi equipment in a "period" cabinet. A much better proposition than the UK-made 1970s Dynatron stuff which eBay is filled with now its original owners have moved on, whose electronics have not generally aged well.

I wonder who the OEM was.

I am trying to find out , to no avail so far. The ADC headshell can't be original, they seem to be highly valued on the auction site! I restore and resell , so have to decide whether to sell them as seperates, or keep them in the cabinet. There are two nice speakers included, which I have to identify.

This will be one of last "Dynatrons" to be made and does not seem to incorporate any Pye or Philips internals.

ADC and BSR were part of the same company by that point if I remember right. However, the turntable looks far eastern so more likely to be made by ADC (or a Japanese sub contractor) than BSR themselves.

Turns out that they were made by a Japanese company named "Micro Seiki" , who supplied similar offerings to other companies such as ITT, Technics,etc..

Could well be the same people.

There was a lot of making-stuff-for-other-people going on in Japan at the time, even the big names often made each other's kit. There was a great thread by Tim Jarman (Studio263) about it here a few years ago.

Things are getting interesting! An Aiwa cassette player/amp has come up for sale on Facebook marketplace that looks like my tuner/amp ! Upon investigating Aiwa history, it turns out that they had two factories in Singapore !! ( Where my tuner was made!) Quote :
" Aiwa also made an early move into overseas production, with the establishment of a factory in Singapore in late 1974. The following year Aiwa opened the Utsunomiya North Factory (the other Utsunomiya factory became known as the South Factory) and its stock was listed on the first section of the Tokyo exchange." See photos for similarities.Mine is the double unit.
