I've recently done a little bit of work with Vinyl, and here are the LP's I used for testing/listening etc. All early or first pressings - except for Dusty and DSOTM. Artiste, LP/Single, Track Elton John, Madman Across the Water, Tiny Dancer Joan Armatrading, 12” Single, Willow Queen, The Works, I Want To break Free Public Service Broadcasting, 12” Single, Spitfire Joan Armatrading, Whatever’s for Us, City Girl Robin Trower, Bridge of Sighs, Day of the Eagle Humble Pie, Rocking the Fillmore, I Don’t Need No Doctor Pat Travers, Rock 'N' Roll Susie, Making Magic Dusty Springfield, Breakfast in Bed, Dusty in Memphis (4 Men with Beards pressing) Primal Scream, 12” Single, Loaded Stevie Wonder, Higher Ground, Innervisions As mentioned eariler there is the Stalwart of.... Floyd, DSOTM. I have used the 2003 30th Anniversary pressing. Terry. |

When I was "roadie-ing" for a mobile disco in the late 80's/ early 90's our test was "Fade to Grey" by Visage. A good test for speakers!

Another great test album is the self titled Edgar Broughton Band album with the “Meat” cover. Evening Over Rooftops is a particularly good test track.
