Creda constellation oven
Hi all have any of you heard of a creda constellation oven? We have been offered one in immaculate condition. But we aren't sure how much to offer. Any ideas please?

Re: Creda constellation oven
Just my opinion , I wouldn’t think it worth much. Can’t be much demand for a item like this. The other thing how desperate is the seller to get shot of it .
If it’s presently connected to a older wiring installation it might work fine. But it’s not uncommon when connected to a newer system with RCD protection to trip the RCD due to leakage in the elements.. On thé plus side if it’s normal spiral elements they can easily be sourced the same as the switches (simmer stats) .Oven elements might be slightly tricky to find .. Depending on how bad you want it and you probably won’t find another one. Andy

That's an interesting looking cooker, with having it's hobs all in a single row. Normally they are in a 2 x 2 layout. The only 'Constellation' model that I had previously known about was the Hoover constellation vacuum cleaner.

Weigh it, see what it would fetch for scrap metal and offer a bit more. Steel's about 15p/kilo or so.

Ma Larkin has one of these cookers in The darling Buds of may where you see all kinds of delights being produced from it

And ask if the seller can deliver... old domestic appliances are hernia0inducingly/toe-crushingly heavy! methinks you'll be needing a van or a car-and-trailer, and a sack-truck, to shift it!

Re: Creda constellation oven
Thanks for all the advice guys, we are getting it but I am not going to tell you how much we offered! Going to get a sparky to beef up our leccy board anyway, still has bakelite fuse wire breakers!
Thanks Nick |
