Line tester T1602/2
Picture attached (lifted from an old thread).
Can anybody please identify the make and model of the toggle switches on this unit? They look superficially similar to the BT Type 1000 but with different handles. Thankyou. |

Re: Line tester T1602/2
The switches were originally made by ITT and then later by C & K but are mostly obsolete now. If memory serves they are 7000 series. There were a lot of varients, which included knob types being rocker, toggle and push. There were the choices of how many poles and if the switch was biased or not. Pin types could be straight for wire wrap or solder pins for pcb mount and also pins with a hole for chassis mount. The longer pin types could also be supplied pre bent. There were also some variants in the way that they fixed to a panel, with 2 screw holes on wing lugs or spring clip styles for mounting into a small rectangular hole in a panel. The switch was purchased along with the addons being knob type and bezel, some bezels had provision for an LED. There was another maker of this style of switch but I can't remember their name at present.

Thankyou for your detailed reply, G6. It looks as though these switches have gone the same way as the type 1000.

Re: Line tester T1602/2
The switches were used in a lot of equipment over the years. The Miesser G gas profiler where I used to work had them as function controls and I had to try to track down replacements as the profiler manufacturer stopped supplying them and even when they could supply them the price was around 4 times the normal cost. These switches used to often turn up at radio rallies but are a bit scarce now.
