Replacement 150 candlestick transmitter
The No.10 transmitter currently fitted is the weak link in an otherwise very usable telephone.
Is there an electronic replacement available? Also, does the No.13 transmitter fit. Also, does anyone have an u/s transmitter that I could use to strip down and construct an electronic version? |

Re: Replacement 150 candlestick transmitter
The Transmitter Inset No 13 was the direct replacement for the No 10 - should make for an easy replacement!

Re: Replacement 150 candlestick transmitter
Transmitter 21A (the red version with the removable covers) can be inserted if its outer (red) cover is removed, though you will probably need to remove the centre pin from the cavity and add some padding.

Re: Replacement 150 candlestick transmitter
I bought a 13C from 1959 which works much better than the No.10 from 1936. I had planned to use it as a shell for an electronic microphone but I will spare it the surgery as it has made the phone usable. Still sounds a bit muffled but I guess that goes with the territory.

See http://joefreeman.weebly.com/microphones.html
The PCB was made with the toner-transfer method. I can't think of anything else to add but if you've any specific questions please feel free at ask. |

Further to the above I've managed to find the original article which goes into more technical detail: http://www.vmarsmanuals.co.uk/newsle...eplacement.pdf
