Some good records down there... Can hear Carillon Wellbeing Radio here quite nicely at 40 miles away. This weekend is a bit crowded. There’s a 55 years anniversary of the MeBO Act on Boom Radio plus the Radio Caroline North long weekend fund-raiser live from the Ross Revenge on 648 and 1368 Manx Radio. |

No sign of it here (85 miles West of London) using either AR88/100-foot longwire running N/S or Eddystone 840A/40-foot wire running E/W.

Re: LV18 Lightship broadcasting this weekend
I think Carillon Wellbeing Radio runs about 400W into a fairly tall top loaded helical at Coalville Town football ground.
Tx power would only put it 3dB down on Caroline’s previous 1kW signal which is listenable here at 150 miles but, of course, the antenna will be less efficient and 1476 hasn’t the ground wave advantage of 648. There are three stations in the group. There is a Carillon Radio on 1386 which I think is a 1 watt station orignally for the hospitals and Hermitage FM 99.2. Hermitage FM have some interesting programmes including a folk and jazz shows on a Thursday night. They have a café under the studios and and a good community feel as the towns are a bit out of the sphere of BBC LR and any remaining ILR stations. Carillon W R 1476 relays Radio Seagull from Holland after hours - usually starting at 8pm. |
