Yep. It doesn't work for me with default DNS from Onestream, but does with OpenDNS (208.67.220.220). Peculiar.

Thank you all, it did not work on Firefox or Chrome with the default DNS, I changed to the Google ones and I can now connect to the web site.

Just tried, can't connect, Firefox/Linux, see attached. I tried several bookmarked links and a search. Tried Satan's Search Engine, no go either.

The IP 163.47.74.1 appears on one IP black list check tool, if your ISP uses that black list it could be the reason for the problems. That’s not to say Elliot sounds are doing anything wrong they are probably using a shared IP address and for some reason there is a perceived problem but not a real one.

The site is unavailable using the BT DNS servers (81.139.56.100, 81.139.57.100), however the site works fine using any of these other DNS settings:-

Cloudflare: 1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1
Google: 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4
Open DNS: 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220

This isn't the first time certain sites have become invisible to BT users. I know that Sound On Sound magazine had a similar problem with BT users being unable to access their website a few months ago which was later fixed by BT.

Ahah! My ISP is BT but I've accessed ESP before on this BB connection. Being a complete neophyte as regards servers, DNS settings etc, how do I go about unblocking ESP's site?

I'm a complete neophyte too Andy, but as I understand it it's BT who have blocked ESP. In fact they have probably blocked the whole hosting company that ESP uses because that hosting company has got one or two bad websites (spammers or hackers or some such) on it. BT will unblock the hosting company when it has thrown the bad actors off.

This is part of the playground fight which is going on all the time between ISPs and hosts. Detecting bad actors at the individual site level takes time and effort and the ISPs and hosts each want the other one to do the job. You are just collateral damage in this fight Andy, as are the perfectly innocent ESP (guess how I know this - imagine you are trying to run a business website and all your e-mail is routed through your web hosts, and suddenly your host gets blocked !). There's nothing that you or ESP can do about it apart from trying to start a campaign to pressure BT to re-open access to ESP's host. You will need to organise a lot of people to complain to BT about it though.

One alternative if you really need to get to ESP mght be to access it through a mobile phone which is using a mobile telephony data link i.e. is not just accessing the internet through wifi into your domestic ISP. That's assuming your mobile phone company hasn't also blocked ESP's hosts.

I also did not know how Andy. I followed this guide

If you want to do both, I usually set the primary DNS to one of the external providers, then set the second to the local address of my router (something like 192.168.1.1 - you can find out what it is by running a command prompt and typing "ipconfig". Your 'default gateway' is your router). That way if the external one fails it falls back on the router DNS settings, which will be the ISP's primary and secondary.

Has anyone who can't access the site reported it to their RSP/ISP? It's unlikely anything will change if no one has reported it - and from the sounds of it it's only one provider that has blocked it, and they've done so with DNS which is hardly blocking a host because of one bad actor - it's specific to the ESP site.

Hello!, site access now working, looks like someone's fixed it, BT broadband and router here, plus Samsung Tab-A tablet.
