Default Sony KV-32LS60U CRT television

Hello everyone, I have a problem with the above tv & I wonder whether anybody can give me any assistance?

Having worked perfectly for 18 years, yesterday it decided to fail. There was an crackle & the tv shut down leaving the power led flashing 4 times in a row & then repeating continually. I am guessing that this is some kind of fault code? I stripped out the circuit boards to visually look for a failed component but saw nothing obvious.

I telephoned the only tv repair guy in the area & his response was to take it to the tip, not very helpful!

I really don't want to get rid of it, I love this TV!

Can anyone offer any advice or know anyone in South Lincolnshire that could take a look?

Many thanks.

Error code 4 should be the vertical deflection.

Here is a service manual for your TV, that should help:

Yes I agree with Maarten most likely cause is Dry joint on the pins of the frame output ic Make certain that the boot strap capacitors are discharged before trying to solder the pin of the ic as soldering iron discharge these cap's, causing damage to the ic
Hope this might help

The LOPT's on these give problems though not sure of the error code. Have a look on the body of the LOPT, if its made in Slovenia, change it.

I was going to say loptx as I have a Sony here awaiting replacement. Not sure whether error is 4 or not.

Been waiting along time as it is mine ,though I have the loptx and lop transistor.

Thank you for all your comments guys, very much appreciated.

I think that I may be a little out of my depth on this one & any repair beyond my capabilities. to be honest. I really don't know what to do with it at the moment, it's currently in bits in the lounge much to the disgust of my wife!

Thanks again, I am most grateful.
