Default An old Sobell on display

Between Boston and Coningsby, Lincs, you will find The Bubble Car Museum, which is worth a visit in itself.

Around the periphery of the museum are displays and scenes from the past, including a sitting room.

In that sitting room sits an elderly, but seemingly well preserved Sobell TV, which seems to be an ST121, though others here may well know better as I have only matched it to a photo I found on the web.

Anyway, a couple of photos are attached.

They also have a display of radios and stereograms, I will post some photos on the other forum in case anyone is interested.

The museum has a website (entry is very reasonable at £3.00):

That's the model called the Stargazer. A nice simple and reliable set.

The tube in that Sobell looks more like a 14" rectangular rather than the 12" round tube originally fitted. Just a thought but it may have a modern chassis fitted. J.

It is only a small museum, run by the people who live there. Seemed very friendly to me, so I expect that if you gave them some notice they would probably allow an enthusiast access to the TV, especially if they were to then get some information about it to add to their guide book.
