Hi Lawrence, you mentioned White and Swales in Post # 39. My contact with that outfit occurred about 1960 when I attended an interview at Hale and having passed it was offered the job at £1 less than the advertised rate,a very common practice then.I declined the offer and went and found a job elsewhere. My mentor up to that time was an ex merchant navy radio officer called Eric Diggle who left the North to live in Helston and I sadly lost contact.Perhaps you crossed paths with him. Hi Peter, I started at White & Swales around 1966, I don't remember Eric Diggle, I worked in the R&TV trade at Helston, there will be more about that when I add it to this thread:
