Just received this radio and it's totally dead, Not a crackle or hiss. Only done a few basic checks. Bypassed the volume control & earphone jack and tried another speaker, And iv'e checked voltage is getting past the on/off switch which it is.
It uses two si transistors in a darlington configuration for the audio preamp, Hoping one of them is down and not one of the audio transformers

Theres a small piece of wire not connected to anything in the amp section. Its also in pics of other radios iv'e looked at online, Wondering if its shorted and took out the audio transistors

Traced the fault to the audio section and noticed one side of the output transformer had broken off the PCB. Replaced it with an output transformer from one of those chinese kit radios. Still nothing. Even with an impedence mismatch i would have expected at least a pop from the speaker
