Help with identifying this Stella radio?
Hi everyone, newbie to vintage radio stuff.
Can anyone help me to identify this Stella radio (Images attached). The back tag is mostly gone other than what looks like a serial number. Is this a valve radio, transitor or hybrid? Any info or advice would be much appreciated. I am looking to buy a nice 60's or so valve radio that could be stand alone or connected to my 70's panasonic stereo. I like the wood cabinet ones. Re: Help with identifying this Stella radio?
It might a Stella ST4501, if it's anything like the Philips 22RB371 it will be a hybrid:

Re: Help with identifying this Stella radio?
Thanks Lawrence, that looks exactly like what it is.
I found a schematic with the Philips model #. Looks like this has a small valve amplifier to power it. Would the 5 pin DIN be an input to the PU switch? Or an output of the radio signal? Or both? Would I be able to connect the radio output through to a tuner input on my amplifier? It is for sale in Australia for $85, probably get it for $50 equivalent £28. Any servicing issues I should look out for? Old leaky caps? Grounded power cord? Thanks so much for the advice and information. Simon |
