Telephone bell to identify.
Following on from the video in this post:
https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...61&postcount=5 Here are some stills of a telephone bell "motor" which I don't recognise.

Re: Telephone bell to identify.
Could it actually be a morse code buzzer of some sort?

Re: Telephone bell to identify.
No. The centre pivoted armature shows it's an AC (Magneto) bell of some sort and there are no contacts.

Re: Telephone bell to identify.
Not a buzzer, but what what about a telegraph sounder, or needle telegraph indicator?

Re: Telephone bell to identify.
As a teacher I see an old ringer mounted on a board for education use, and it has had a tough life so the hammer is missing.

That sounds very plausible!

Re: Telephone bell to identify.
Just looks like a 59A type bell-movement, Nick: but the sort as found in a field-telephone 'F' or similar. I'll go with it being either for educational use or someone fancied making a buzzer instead of a bell.

Re: Telephone bell to identify.
The bell ringer looks pretty much like the one depicted in this Bell set 41. I have a Bell set 41 which I removed the metal rectifiers/relay from and used as the house telephone bell up to 1998. I agree it looks like someone has made a buzzer from it.

Re: Telephone bell to identify.
I would hazard a guess and suggest that not only is the bell-movement from a Type 'F' field-telephone, but the terminals are too!
