Default Help repairing a Plessey 1553.

Hi All,

got my hands on an old Plessey 1553, Does anyone have one? I'd like to get a service manual (the one I have has a different module 10 version).

I've already fixed the 15V PSU but would like to check some values from a working unit.

The problem I'm tacking right now is the display that does not update with the frequency unless cable 23 is disconnected. If the cable is connected it tunes fine but the frequency meter does not show the correct frequency, if I disconnect cable 23 the frequency meter does work, but no audio is provided.

By the way where can I get Belling Lee L1465 connectors?

thank in advance

Jorge

I have a 1553, and the manual which includes the Module 10 Mk II. I have already scanned part of the manual, so I'll get the Module 10 schematic ready.
Can't access my receiver just now, which I got in kit-form, so I don't know which version of the module is in mine. Maybe we should exchange schematics just in case we have both between us

So, I got it to work.

Here is my progress so far :

I'll tidy up the list when I'm finished with it. GREAT RADIO - GREAT FUN !

Please note that the Mauritron user guide is a poor quality scan of what can be found on the net.

That's now the definitive reference for this nice receiver Jorge. I shall archive every page and read through carefully
