Default Standard Telephones & Cables, STC R6

Hi
The Radio Museum has been sent photos of an STC R6 receiver. Going by the wavebands it looks like it is possibly an early Navy receiver from around 1935.
The frequency ranges are; 1200 - 430kHz, 430 - 158kHz, 158 - 60kHz
It has 8 valves 9D2 9D2 9D2 9D2 9D2 9D2 11D3 7D7

here are some photos.

The 2 big tuning-drives look identical to those used on the Gee "RF" units of WWII-vintage.

Lawrence is that all, going by your normal standards I would have thought you would have produced the circuit, the name of ship it was on and the name of the radio Officers true love back home.

The two big tuning drive are quite standard slow motion drives by Muirhead. Nice to see the bakelite outers aren't broken.

Common in late thirties and WWII stuff.

The architecture is remarkably similar to the ST&C WWII-vintage BBC CS-8 100kW broadcast transmitter drive units, as shown here at OSE9, even down to the colour of the paint (yes, I know it's black and white...).
