Default Help wanted Identify and Valuation.

A work colleague of mines partner has a collection of old telephones and a complete telephone exchange that was rescued a long time ago ,and now they are looking to move these on .
I know absolutely zippo about vintage phones so im hoping the telephone wizards here can give some guidance on these two items.

They may also be offered here at some point or go to auction .
The telephone exchange needs to be photographed at a later date due to where it is stored.

The first phone looks to be a fairly common style but the second one is a real oddity.

The second phone is stored in a huge cast iron box which weighs a ton and i am guessing it was mounted on some sort of post or wall?

Ive photograped them as best i can as they were in the boot of my colleagues car.

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Could that be a die cast aluminium box?

Railways and mines used rugged phone enclosures.

It's a Tele 145 originally used as a taxi rank telephone.

More likely cast iron if it's that heavy?

The other is a model 232 “pyramid” complete with its bellset, in apparently nice, as-recovered condition. Got to be worth £100 or so, possibly more?

The Telephone 145 is not a particularly common phone, but doesn't seem to be very sought after either. I bought one about twenty years ago, new old stock still in its box for £25.

Are you sure it's a 232? Could also be a GECoPHONE with built in bell, the photo of the base isn't that clear.

The GECophone is a single instrument - this one is quite clearly a separate telephone mounted on top of the bellset and the photo of the base quite clearly shows it to be a Tele 1/232.
