Ekco CR72 car radio
I am trying to find a trimming tool to adjust the RF coils on an Ekco CR72 car radio factory fitted to a 1950 Ford V8 Pilot. The coil cores appear to have a threaded brass rod with a flattened end that takes the trimming tool.
Can anyone advise me where I can buy one please? |

Try a junior hacksaw and a suitable size plastic knitting needle?

Or a sawn off plastic pot shaft.

Re: Ekco CR72 car radio
To adjust a threaded brass rod with two flats, take a piece of scrap steel bundy tube (as used in car brake lines) and squash it in the vice at one end, to fit. Then bend the other end through a right angle to form a handle.

Re: Ekco CR72 car radio
I have an original Ekco trimming tool, Not for sale as I still use it on Ekco car radios, (I have the Ford cars they fit!). There is a slot in one end and a hexagon for the aerial trimmer at the other end. The aforementioned bit of squashed pipe should do the job just as well.
