Lothians Surplus equipment sale
It's the Lothians Radio Society's 6-monthly junk auction on Wednesday evening 16-10-2013
St Fillan's Church, Buckstone Drive, Edinburgh EH10 6PD 7:30 for 8:00 In past years I've seen several old woodies, lots of amateur radio stuff, some rather good test gear (I've bought 1 HP, 2 Tek and 1 Hameg scopes) Lots of boxes of unsorted old components but also a lot of what to my eye is 70's tat. Hi David,
Is it open to non-members? Peter |

Re: Lothians Surplus equipment sale
Hi Peter,
Oh yes, they want the junk to move around in wider circles to increase variety! I think there's a 10% fee for any non-member selling, and the raffle pays for the hall. David

Re: Lothians Surplus equipment sale
I have a few items to dispose of. See you there.
Peter; it is open to non members. If you have something to auction the take a very minor 10% commission. Al

Re: Lothians Surplus equipment sale
Are any lists available please?
I'm looking for a couple of specific AVO items; Testmeter 12889 (also known as Model 9SX) and Electronic Testmeter Mk IV but it's a long way to come just on the chance. PMM. |

Re: Lothians Surplus equipment sale
The chance of specific items is low, very low. No lists, it's what gets brought on the night. Prices are low, though, and I find a good likelihood of finding something which interests me.

Re: Lothians Surplus equipment sale
There were plenty of oscilloscopes!
Telequipment D63 dual channel D83 worker and a second one with a timebase fault Hitachi 20MHz dual channel, worker Philips 25MHz dual channel At least four Gould OS300 (not known if working) Some went for a few quid, I don't think anything got over £20 I came home with a Lyons audio generator and the matching distortion meter (£6 and £5) for my brother. He builds guitar amplifiers... so I can tease him that the distortion meter is so he can check that they make enough THere were several Thandar pulse and audio generators and one Trio RF sig gen, very basic, but useful. Overall, a good evening for me. David

Re: Lothians Surplus equipment sale
It's the Lothians Radio Soc junk sale again on Wednesday 9th April.
Same time, same channel. St Fillan's Church, Buckstone Drive, Edinburgh EH10 6PD 7:30 for 8:00 But for added fun, the end of Braid Road is shut off by roadworks, so a bit of inventive navigation via a loop to the north is needed. David

Re: Lothians Surplus equipment sale
Ah, that was a rather good evening.
I bought another Tektronix 465B scope which has had its EHT transformer nobbled to fix another, but it does have the DVM in the pod along the top which mine lack. I'll see if I can retrofit it. But £6 made it a bargain. Someone got a Cossor melody maker, I think. Pre-war TRF, upright cabinet with an aeroplane style dial and a reaction control coaxial with the tuning. It used to be in a uni engineering dept until someone came along, PAT tested it and cut off the mains lead. £4 Half a dozen Hitachi scopes went for £6 to £7 I got half a dozen 6H6 for 50p And the raffle turned up a bottle of wine. Oh, and a little Farnell function generator for £6. Tried and found working. David
