My fave, looks wise... B&O 20AX series ... sorry I can't remember the model number.
The picture was taken a while back and the set looks a lot better in the flesh

So many beautiful sets over the years, it's difficult to choose. I love the look of things such as these –

Running a close second would probably be the Baird Townsman.

But I have to share this! Yes folks, its a NEW one-owner one, first "owner owned" in the year 2016! And its beautiful.

Ah, Pye. LV51 e.g. at http://www.thevalvepage.com/tv/pye/lv51f/lv51f.htm https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...ad.php?t=73476 and http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/pye_lv51lv_5.html – plain and simple but I like the proportions, especially the front.

Another plain shape, the 1950s HMV 18… pictured near the top of http://www.designfloat.com/blog/2010...ge-tv-designs/ – the photograph does not show the sides or top, but the finish of the woodwork was gorgeous all round.
(I'm biased; I own an LV51 and one of those HMVs.)
Bow front GEC models, all lovely –

I don't know if it's just me but I'm starting to see the inner beauty of these sets too with regards to the sets internal working design and layout. …
Decades ago I dabbled with a 1950s portable, maybe one of these: Sobell portable television, model TPS 147, 1955. Pictures | Getty Images. (Please: does anyone have links to other photos of that model?) Whatever it was: I marvelled at the fit of the innards within the case. I vaguely recall some knack to sliding the innards in or out, so it might have been a bit of a pain for serious repair folk. But I liked it.

My GEC De Luxe Twenty Three https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...d.php?t=128376 – I don't know how the woodwork was finished (can someone tell me?) but in sunlight, it was beautiful. To my eye.

Less selfishly: of all the photos that I see linked from this topic, I think the most beautiful is of the RCA TRK-9.

Now I'm certain that it was one of those models. Probably the McMichael. I do think that they're beautiful portables, but then …

The front panel reminds me of a car dashboard from it's era, I think it is more remarkable for it's internal design though, being the first portable valve TV that could be powered from a car battery.

Please, what's that TV?

I see photos of the nice-looking Baird T164 but I can't imagine that running from a car battery!

Without a doubt the pre-war Pye 817 or 819. Small, symmetrical, nice layout; well balanced on the eye, beautiful veneering, chuckle-worthy tiny screen, art deco 'odeon' styling, cute, dinky, just lovely. I owned an 817 many years ago. Here's pics of the two from Steve Ostler's Radiocraft web page page (hope you don't mind Steve?):

The post war EKCO TS188 table model was equally neat and 'dinky' in appearance, albeit with much less elaborate veneering - see photo. As an aside I like the way that art deco design features carried on in lots of things into the 50s, as you can see from the screen surround on the EKCO.
