Re: Bush AC34 restoration - quiet audio, help, please.
The easiest way to start if you have no specialised equipment (like me) is to try and play some kind of sound (using a cheap bluetooth receiver for example, or phone or iPod etc) and going in at the volume control. All you need is a stereo cable and some crocodile clips. If the set is still quiet, the problem most likely lies with the output phase.

Re: Bush AC34 restoration - quiet audio, help, please.
I’ve just put my AC34 on the bench and carried out some basic observations, I restored this set last year.
1. Touching the PU socket with volume control full up getting a good buzz. 2. With the set near my workshop window, using only the frame aerial, I can receive stations on both LW and MW with more than enough volume to comfortably listen too. The problem I had with the set was the second IF capacitor had a broken connection, which I repaired. I then carried out alignment and this made a huge difference. Hope that helps. John |

Just to be clear I carried out IF alignment, after repair.
