PYEQAC2 IF coil
Hi Chaps. I am restoring this receiver but have come upon an open circuit IF coil. the intermediate 127k/s. Their seems to be millions of turns of wire embedded in wax.No way
could i rewind this at my age . Is there anyway round this problem.thanks tony

Re: PYEQAC2 IF coil
There are possibilities..... depending on how much of bodge is acceptable
If it's the secondary of the first IFT, you could simply replace it by RC coupling direct from the mixer anode If it's the first IFT primary, swap it for the secondary, then as above. Second IFT primary (possibly) replace primary with RF choke then couple IF anode to top of secondary via low value capacitor, try 10-50pF(?). Second IFT secondary- replace by primary then as above. No guarantees, realignment of IFs recommended, performance may suffer somewhat. Ask Ed Dining for a rewind quote? Good luck!

Re: PYEQAC2 IF coil
That sounds like a better solution anyway.
Hope you're feeling better now. Santé Chris
