HMV radio available
Chaps,
I was approached last night by a club mate who has an old HMV set he wishes to move on. I have no idea as to a value, if any, so cant advertise it on the forum and stay within the rules. So, below is his text to me: if anyone could give a value or PM me with some ideas perhaps that works? "I have an HMV 657 radio which I can remember using as a child, it used to take a couple of minutes to warm the valves up. The unit still has a 5 amp round pin plug fitted. Now I know it used to work back in the late sixties /early seventies. And has been stored in a dry roof space since then, so it's status is un-known. If you know of any collectors or museums who would be interested in this please pass on, I would like it to go to a good home & if it has a little monetary value even better. I also have a couple of A3 sized printed sheets from the "Supplement to The Wireless & Electrical Trader, April 8 1939" showing parts of the circuit & specifications of this radio." The set is in Salisbury Thanks David

Re: HMV radio available
If Sunday's RWB auction was anything to go by, a fiver!
With a good magic eye, though, perhaps quite a bit more It's not a pretty set but it does have an RF stage to make it a bit interesting.

What a nice project for somebody over there!!!. Apart from electronics, it requires a cabinet repolish.
What more could one want?. Joe |

A man in South America, perhaps Peru, makes those large HMW water-slide decals for the top.
