Default Re: BT Tower sold.

The BT tower at Tinshill, Leeds is my local Chilterns pile. I believe it is the shortest of all of them but then it sits atop the highest point in Leeds. I've always called it the Cookridge Tower; it's a sad shadow of its former gloriously functional self. No more dishes and horns. Quite sad.

One of my bosses, now long deceased, had previously worked for the Post Office and had had some involvement in planning the PO Tower in London. I don't remember exactly the story he told but it was along these lines. They had worked out the height at which they wished to put the horns but had been told the tower had to be lower. Then, when the height of the horns had been determined, the restaurant was allowed to go above them.
