Hi I've posted some data before on TV22s. Of this series of Bush TVs I have three TV22A sets these are:-
Chassis number 153/00065 - A41 07374, restored & working.
Chassis number 153/05972 - A41 44304, not working, needs assessment as to extent of restoration required.
Chassis number 153/01543 - A41 16660, dismantled, no tube, case cracked but now repaired with Araldite & Fiberglass reinforcement, poor insulation of some of the main chassis wiring.

Regards Mike

Hi
20 sets is statistically very relevant. Could you please share your method, if any, for restarting/restoring a LOPT?
Kind regards
Helder

If it's this Steve which you're referring to, then this is a puzzle. I wasn't in the habit of supplying unrestored sets. Thanks for the serial number though. Another one to add!

This was bought off a work colleague in 2009. It had been bought by his ex in-laws for the coronation and had apparently been taken out of service around 1970 and stored in dry conditions since then. Took me about 2 weeks to recap it and sort out various other issues but it displayed a picture on first power up.

It even came with the original mains lead and plug plus a piece of wire as the the aerial. Tuned to Holme Moss, the transmitter isn't that far from Bradford.

It ran perfectly during the re-run of the coronation in 2013 and to be honest the picture looked better than picture on a 37" LCD TV!

I haven't powered it up for some time so fingers crossed when I do.

Keith
I've just powered up the TV22 in preparation for watching the forthcoming coronation so I can watch it on a TV that was actually used to watch the 1953 coronation.

I'm pleased to say that apart from a little dust and the odd spiders web inside the TV it powered up and displayed a picture after 10 years of inaction. It's now set up ready for the May 6th coronation with a back up of the 42" TV!

So the entry in the poll spread sheet can be amended to working.

Thanks.

Do members think I should include the TV12 seen regularly on 'The Footage Detectives' on Talking Pictures TV?

It'd take me a while to gather all the serial numbers on my Bakelite Shrubs (I have one of each, none of which are functional) but I also have an oddball TV32 which seems to have been re-configured as some sort of line-fed monitor? I'd have to get the "receiver unit" out to inspect it but it looks sort of semi-official, even though the set retains its "live" chassis. Sadly it has no back to identify it.

If it's not too OT, has anyone pointed out that Noel and Mike Read have a TV22 sat between them as they present "The Footage Detectives" on TPTV at 5pm on Sunday and Monday every week It's the sort of TV Station where you can ring up and speak to the owners. I'm sure they would be very willing to provide the Serial No etc. TPTV are holding a "Vintage Film and TV Weekend" at St Albans on the 24/25th of March and it's very reasonably priced. [No connection with myself!]
