Default BVWS Auction Polite Request

Could anyone who has won an item in the last BVWS auction please collect from me in 30 days of notification that it is has arrived here. As per auction rules.

I still have 1 set from 14months ago and this cannot happen in future, I do not have unlimited storage space.

Please contact me via my phone (See Bulletin) or email me. Of course any genuine delays I will do my best to help.

Thank you,

David

I was lucky enough to win some items. I hope my items will come to you in due course. I’ll then be in touch as it is only fair that we remove them as soon as possible. It will be good to see you again David.

Peter,

Your items will be handed over to David at Biggleswade on the 12th March for transport up to Scunthorpe.

David,

If the person takes that long to collect the item, they do not want it so I suggest you bring the item(s) down to Biggleswade with you and we will re-sell them for Society funds.

Mike...

Thank you Peter and thank you Mike, I thought afterwards I might have been out of order mentioning this. Pretty sure there will not be any problems with collections.

PS I do get pleasure from helping any members where I can of course.

Our local auction house had problems with buyers not collecting within a reasonable time. They had one person who would buy, pay and then list the item for sale online, they would then only collect it once it had sold or even would meet the online buyer at the auction house to collect the item!

Now they have a rule, Collect within the specified time or a daily storage charge is added to their account and the buyer is blocked from future sales until the storage bill is paid.

Maybe the BVWS could introduce a similar idea, free storage for a reasonable time and then a daily charge? Or as Mike says if not collected after a reasonable time the item is disposed of for society funds.

This will only affect those people who abuse others goodwill. The great majority of members will be unaffected and a rule may prevent one person spoiling it for all if a volunteer became fed up with the situation and withdrew their offer to be a collection point.

While I know you are correct, Mike does have rules in place and they are very fair. Certainly do not want to loose any members, more the opposite if possible by providing collection points and trying to assist folks.
Anyone who cannot get in the specified time frame through whatever events, I will always try and accommodate.

Thanks for the information Mike, sorry only just seen your post. Will contact David after the 12/3. Once again many thanks for the huge effort put into making this auction a success.
