I repaired one or two of those Kuba's during my time at Granada.
16 valves in an 11inch "portable" CTV, at a time when a typical hybrid had only 4 or 5.

Still, saved you the cost of a room heater.

Regards, John.
I was mainly interested in black and white transistor TVs however, this very year I discovered black and white dual standard valve sets!

My 1969 Rediffusion Guildford, which has a Bush TV161 A640 chassis. It's taken A LOT to get going including the microwave oven diode tripler mentioned above and I thoroughly enjoyed working on it!

I remember the plastic was very brittle, probably due to the amount of heat! My Atari 2600 looked better in black and white mode than colour mode through this thing.
Going from this to an Amstrad CPC 464 with it's own RGB colour monitor was a huge upgrade!

Were there any other colour portables that were sold/rented in the UK around this time?
