Default Clyne kit from 1960

I got this radio from an elderly gent who was having a clearout. It's a Clyne 'Wavemaster Transiseven' superhet kit, utilizing seven (count 'em!) Ediswan XA series transistors.
The cabinet and mechanical design is quite crude, but it works reasonably well and is complete with all circuits and pictorial construction aids.
I'm sure those of us who grew up in the 50/60's remember all those ads in the back of magazines like PW, Wireless World etc.

I remember the firm, they were one of the many surplus radio stores of the time, there were a number in the Tottenham Court road area but I think the greatest concentration was in Lisle Street.

I certainly remember the ads. I was well disappointed by the Roamer 7, but an Elegant 7 I built slightly later did sterling service for many years in Mum's kitchen with a homebrew mains psu inside.

Oooh, I picked up an Elegant 7 at a boot sale last year, it still works! Pretty sure mine has a flat front, but several on the web have a sloping tuning scale.

The flat front was an early one. Later ones (like mine) had the sloping front.
