They were a perfectly usable signal here in Bletchley until around 6.30 each evening. After that, another station a few Hz off their frequency became audible and the heterodyne caused too much flutter.

Listening on a Beolit 600 trannie, the later type. Indeed, the very same set I used to hear them on in 1973.
I also still have the Perdio Mini 77 on which I listened to the North Ship in the early 60's as a kid in West Lancs, although it's no longer in use.

Even allowing for the Thames estuary as a groundplane, that was a very good signal for an RSL.

I enjoyed what I heard - the people who picked the music obviously share my musical tastes.

The Restricted Service Licence period has now ended and silence reigns on 531 KHz. I'll close this thread.
