It looks the same as the power connector on my Solartron SRS153S variable PSU.

The same plug can be assembled in different ways so that the locations keys are oriented differently with respect to the contacts.

It is also used on the Racal RA17 and associated kit (like the SSB and low frequency adaptors.

It's a Plessey plug, fits military issue instruments from Hartley, Solartron, Met Vic etc,

That is a valuable connector.
They fit a wide range of vintage test gear and some people will pay up to £25 for them.
I think the B40 comms receiver uses the 2 pin version.
I have got enough for my gear that uses them.

Now made by Weald and sold through FC Lane. In a former job we used them on radar sets and in their multi-pole version, on reflected infra-red cameras that checked the moisture content of clay in the pottery industry.

Oh okay many thanks for that guys I did not realise it was worth a few quid I'll post it up for sale think 15 quid must be fair price plus postage. It still has an original EDISWAN mains plug that's interesting as its incredibly heavy for a plug plus it has 4 screws not seen that before and something in middle. Heres a Pic know it's just a plug but not seen one like it before.

The centre black insert can be fixed in different keyed locations to customise exactly what it mates with. The Ra17 and ct160 ones I have seen use different configurations. Easy enough to change.....once you can get it apart.
No doubt, as well as the two I mentioned (and the other people), there are numerous other items that it will fit.

Back in the 70s my partnts' old Morphy Richards "Noiseless" hairdryer had one of those Ediswan plugs. When as a student I 'inherited' said hairdryer I took the Ediswan plug off and replaced it by a brown MK 15-amp BS546 because the halls-of-residence were all still round-pin.

Blimey that's going back still having round plug sockets funny enough other way round for me I have some round pin plugs but can't use them now ha ha.
Mind you there definitely a heavy duty plug can't believe the weight of it.
