Re: Nice looking old tv on Facebook
Good evening,
Looks like a Philips 1747U 17" fringe model, Released Sept 1954 according to the valve page. Looks a cracker for restoration though Christopher Capener

Re: Nice looking old tv on Facebook
It's a joke on a few of the vintage TV pages that older sets are in danger of being turned into cat beds or fish tanks.

Re: Nice looking old TV on Facebook
If you made a little staircase from the bottom of the console to the chassis shelf it would become a two storey cat bed.. Heaven forbid! J.

Re: Nice looking old TV on Facebook
I was in Scarborough on Friday and found myself looking into a shop window full of stuffed animals and birds .There was also a very convincing human effigy of a man sitting behind a counter [i have always found this stuff fascinating but very creepy] but the thing that really caught my eye was the huge vintage telly also on display .I think it may have been a DECCA because the speaker grill was very similar to the one on those Decca Decola radiograms

Re: Nice looking old TV on Facebook
I was going to say that I'd doubt that they would get that price for it, regardless of its good condition, but it just goes to show!
