I suspect it's probably due to IP licensing issues with the content-providers. A lot of orchestras/theaters are - understandably - restrictive about distribution methods that potentially infringe on their ability to charge for replay-rights. I know that some will allow SD streaming but the HD version is subject to rights-management.

I had to retune but it’s an old TV.
From what I understand catch-up is for subscribers to Sky or Now.
