G'day all.

Not sure of the type numbers but they are used mainly for services aviation.
There are two sizes. Different lengths. Yes size does matter!
From memory the shorter ones are for chopper crew and the longer ones for general aircraft service.
They are used because they will separate easily.
In the services here they are referred to as a "bail out connector".
If you want to leave a machine in a real hurry you don't want the headset trying to strangle you.
If you can find an old derelict "Larkspur" headset you will find one on the chest plate. Socket that is. I got one for my David Clark headset that way.
Sorry I can not remember if it was the long one or the short one.

If you want more info I could go to my workshop and dig it out and measure for you.
