So if i understand correctly referring to the 1141 trader sheet the path to ground from the aerial passes through S3 through the coil on L5 then through S8 to ground because this path offers less resistance than through the resistor between aerial and earth sockets and the term 'shunt' describes this situation.
I did the other day refer to the switch table on sheet 1141 and put different coloured lines adjacent to all the switches on the circuit diagram to show which ones were closed with the band switch in each position.
It has made it much easier when I am attempting to follow path of current.
