I finally got round to adjusting the ion trap magnet today. It's now a good further 3/16" further back than it was and is on the bakelite base. I hope this isn't indicative of a fault?
Is the ion trap magnet now "set up" and nothing else I do will require me to readjust it again? I would of liked to leave it longer to warm up but I was worried about the araldite softening

The picture isn't that much brighter and it's now off center and out of focus but I guess that's to be expected.
