Yes your right Hamid. To be honest the warm up isn't bad compared with say an AC/DC radio especially if it has a URIC rectifier! It just feels it's taking it's time but I suspect, as you say, the sound is instant!

The 20" models gave a very good picture, nice and bright with good colour. There are two hue controls. One on the back is a preset you adjusted for minimum blinds on a yellow portion of the picture. The front user control once set did not require further adjustment.

Skin tones are excellent and I must say I have seen very poor blinds on PAL D receivers especially if the decoder featured one of those blue delay lines. I think they were DL50's.

They must have sold very well. The odd valves I obtained from Teleton direct or from Toshiba. I had an early Toshiba account [1972] and they would order them.

Looking at the heater current I suspect that a Cossor/Emitron 185BT [18V .45a heater] would work ok as a replacement for the line output valve but some adjustment would be required to accommodate the difference in heater voltage. These things can always be overcome when your having fun with these obsolete receivers.

A scan of the cover of the 20" service manual is attached. John
