Default Labgear D4129 Non-blocking linear pulse amplifier

This has been under the bench since I bought it as a student in about 1980 from a surplus shop in Newcastle under Lyme. I presume it does what it says on the tin, but I would like to know what it was used for, and does it have any historical value?

Model is Labgear D4129, serial number R008. All the valves are Mullards, One ECC83,two ECC85,a 108C1, five M8100 (CV4010), and a EL360. It has solid state rectifiers (60-10 type case?).
