Re: Dansette covering?
The Rexine on the two in the pictures was generally good. One had a few small patches of missing Rexine and I did consider stripping the old off and re-covering but instead used a mix of filler and PVA to fill the gaps and whilst still slightly tacky used an offcut of Rexine to impress the pattern. I looked yesterday when I took the photos and can't see the patches. The other was badly faded and almost see-through on one side with the cloth backing clearly visible so painting and getting a texture with a roller seemed the best way to go. I think the Leather treatment one looks slightly better and 'feels' like Rexine.
