Re: Black Box Cabinet
I'm working on a nice Defiant from the late 1940s. The cabinet is horribly knocked about with some deep scratches and dings and will have to be stripped and re-done from bare wood.
However, it has that (to my mind) rather attractive finish where the edges of each panel are considerably darker than the centres. Pic attached.
Can anyone suggest how this could be achieved? To be honest, I've no idea how it was done originally. I'm tempted to experiment on some scrap plywood with a matt black paint spray...
