AR88LF Manual
 

Recently added an "LF" to the collection. I like to have original manuals for all of my radios so I'm trying to hunt down an AR88LF manual. Looking for suggestions on where to find one.

That is unless RCA made them over here..

Great sets, I have one of each, but haven't managed to lift them from where they are stored.

There were more AR88's in Great Britain than there were in the US for many years. Not counting those that were sold to Russia.

Bletchley Park had racks of them. And still do.

I am looking to get an original manual though, not a copy.

I did request the one in their list as maybe it is better then the copy I have.

Original manual - wow that is a tough ask. It is like trying to find an original manual for a Racal RA17! Unobtainium.

G'day Tom and all of the other contributors.

I have an original RCA Victor manual for the AR-88LF.
I also have just about every other manual for the AR-88 radios in printed form from net downloads.
I have 2 AR-88D and 2 AR-88LF radios so I have an interest in them.
If you are looking for information to use to restore your radio you can't go past the EMER documents as they are far easier to understand than the original RCA manuals.
If you look at the valve layout in the original RCA manual it is the old style of representation. You can follow it once you get your head around it but it isn't easy to start with.
In my opinion you won't gain anything by pursuing the original book. I have it and it is no better than one of the downloaded documents.
The Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Regulation (EMER) is a far better document to work with.
There are a few more EMER docs to look at as well.

Of course if you want an original book for collector's reasons I have to agree with an above poster; best of luck.

Hello Robert,

Thank you for the reply. I have, over time, been able to find most of the internet resources of documentation and print them out. I typically generate a binder full of documentation for each radio I have.

The desire for an original manual is just that, a desire. I try to have one for each radio I own - part of the radio collecting disease for me;D
