Digging about in an old drawer looking for a plug today I found this, I don't remember where it came from but it is 28 Pin DIL chip in a socket, maybe to protect the pins and it has the handy Graphics label on the top suggesting maybe it was an upgrade for an early computer..

Any ideas anyone

That looks like a Sideways ROM for the BBC Micro. The 'Graphics' label reminds me of either Computer Concepts or Acornsoft as the publisher. I think they both did graphics extension ROMs but I could be wrong. It probably dates from about 1983-1984.

It'll be a 27128 (or 2764) under the label. Putting it in a BBC Micro or reading it in an EPROM programmer would soon identify exactly what's in it.

Judging by the style of the box art it could be the Computer Concepts version.
