No 12v - Fixed.
Still no deck action. Bulb Changed - still nothing. Now what??

Steve,

Try the transistor that feeds the lamp, apparently Q1 on the deck terminal 1 board, a BC307 is said to work.

How about checking the "Dew" sensor Steve(?) Also try covering up the end sensors with tape if you have the lid off.

Put a tape in, press play. Laces up, but for the capstan, which sits there and does nowt. Any ideas.

(I've never got on with Videos!)

i have had dead spots on the capstan motor on a lot of early thorn and hitachi machines check its supply voltage if ok check that it is drawing current

This gets sillier. Only does it when warm. From cold, no trouble!!!

Hi Steve,

As system A says, its almost certainly the loading belt, specially if its ok from cold. When it starts to fail it just misses that last little bit of torque needed to close the mode switch. Bit of a sod to change from what I remember. Before removing the loading motor use some elaccy bands or summat to hold the guides in the unlaced position, else you run the risk of the loading rings jumping free and losing the mech timing.

Definitely the loading belt Steve. It does it on loads of those JVC / Fergie video models.

I really should have remembered 'bout the loading belt, Steve.
I seem to remember the grease on the loading rings getting gummy, as well.
