Yes I have that up on my computer right now but it doesn’t tell you how the Bakelite surround comes off and I don’t want to break it!!! The bottom is lose it comes away about half an inch but that’s all…. So am a bit stuck as I want to start testing parts ….

These are good basic receivers. The stuck mask as illustrated by Panrock was a problem when I was 16 and that was 1964!

Not many stock faults but if you have poor line sync, that is after doing all the usual checks [diodes etc] Check the primary of the discriminator transformer. It's primary has an 8.2k [?] resistor wired across it with the result that the frame sync appears to be OK!

This caught me out many years ago and you don't forget those head scratchers.

Plenty of nasty caps to change but the one I overhauled with my curator partner at the Dulwich museum has been very reliable after very many hours of use. Good luck with it! Regards, John

I would change any wax coupling caps, in line frame, sound plus boost cap and any cap across the mains.

Start off about 100---150 volts across main smoothing cap and check it is not getting warm.
