Centre for Computing History CRT TV pile

I've just seen this YouTube posting from Jason Fitzpatrick at the Centre for Computing History in Cambridge:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1CCseq8llw

He's been offered a big pile of CRT TVs and monitors and wants help finding homes for them. Many of them look to be in poor condition, but they seem to span dates from the 1970s to 2000s. I spotted a good few classics in amongst the basket cases.

On the YouTube page is an email address that you can get in touch with him on if interested.

I have no connection other than as an occasional visitor to and donator to the CFCH.

Shango066 would take the lot if he could.

As for me, the only thing that caught my eye was this valve radio, can anyone ID it?

It looks like a Cossor Melody Maker 500AC that's been got at.

Hopefully some of them can be saved.

If I had room, I'd be down there in a flash! They do look a mess, but I bet some will clean up ok. I particularly like the Toshiba, the one with most of it's cabinet missing! My parent's TV as I was growing up was the non-remote version, and it's still in the workshop (right behind me!) and still working well. It kind of reminds me of the telly pile that I used to rummage through at the tip, only the telly's were less rotten back then!

Regards,
Lloyd

That was my very first restoration ever!
Still have it too,
Unfortunatly i dont have any room for TVs now otherwise i would be trying to save one or two.

I do have an enormous box of new old stock remote controls for TVs from the 70s 80s 90s if anyone is in need of one.
