Re: Lancashire wireless factory.

I agree, Ferranti, the chassis looks very similar to the one that's fitted in the A1 seven valve superhet.

Lawrence.

Would that have been the Moston radio factory?

Whenever we saw a helicopter flying over our house, my dad would say, "That's
Basil on his way in to work".

My only claim to fame with Ferranti is that I cleaned his chopper when I was a lad....8-o

That's a shame. It was on before the Lancashire Lass film. I missed the beginning of that as well but I could see where the comedian Les Dawson got his ideas from. I suspect my mistake was to rely on the Radio Times. For some reason, their TPTV listings often miss out these "filler" programs. I will have to remember to check on line. I see that Factory "short" was mentioned here in 2018 and Moston seemed to be the favourite then!

I went for an interview with the Ferranti company, probably about 1971. I don’t remember if I was offered a job or not but part of me wishes I’d been there.......

There was only this short piece about the wireless factory, and no dialogue, just annoying muzak that spoil all these films. The rest was cotton making, cable making, steel and plate glass manufacture.

It was part of 'glimpses' according to the tv guide.
It's been uploaded to youtube but with an annoying (VERY annoying) watermark.
